This week marks 1 full year from when I quit my job and completely went into freelance art full time. In fact I hadn’t painted in YEARS until this point so it has been a year that I have been an artist. It has not been easy, it takes a lot of hard work dedication and at times can be super stressful. But the rewards of working for yourself, doing something you love, on your own terms are well worth it!

It is super crazy and awesome and empowering to know I could do it and I still can. In a year I have been apart of over 22 art shows and am scheduled to be in a lot more by the end of 2012. I never thought I would ever be this busy, let alone this busy in my first year! So thank you to everyone who has supported me by offering words of encouragement, believing in me, letting me do this, offering me amazing opportunities, and also by collecting my pieces. I couldn’t have done it with out you guys!!!

I am no where near where I want to be yet, I am still a “developing artist” working on my style and skill. The wonderful thing about art is an artist is ever growing. you would be hard pressed to look at the current  work of an artist and then work they did even 2-3 years back and see many simularities. We are ever growing and evolving, taking the world around us and shaping it with our imagination and spirit. I am excited to see my skill improve and see my own personal point of view and vision come across with every new piece. I am looking forward to getting better and shaping the world around me!

Thank you all again! I figured I would end this little post with one of my earlier pieces I did last year to my most recent, so you can see how far I’ve come and how much farther I can go!
